CreativeMornings/Freiburg - Kaustav 'KOU' Majumdar

CreativeMornings/Freiburg ist Teil des internationalen CreativeMorning-Netzwerks mit über 265 weiteren Städten rund um den Globus.

Bei den monatlich stattfindenden Veranstaltungen kommen kreative Menschen aus und um Freiburg zum Frühstück zusammen, um bei einem kurzen Impuls „über die Kaffeetasse hinaus zu blicken“. Das Thema zu den jeweiligen Impulsen ist international einheitlich, darf aber jeweils individuell von den Impulsgeber:innen interpretiert werden. Vor- und nach dem Impuls gibt es die Möglichkeit zum Netzwerken.

Eine inspirierende Stunde als Start in den Tag.

Zum "Monats"thema LOCAL werden wir mit Kunstler Kaustav Majumdar 'sip and sketch' machen. Veranstaltungssprache ist Englisch also: Our speaker this month is Kaustav Majumdar (KOU), an Indian-born, Germany-based contemporary artist and scenographer.

Working between realism and abstraction, KOU coined the term Neo Vividism to describe his exploration of color, memory, and light. His paintings transform fleeting moments into vibrant emotional landscapes where perception and time dissolve into sensation.

KOU regularly appears at creative and cultural events across Germany, including Venice Design Week and Wurzel Festival, and has created live drawing and digital art experiences in Berlin and Freiburg. You can view his beautifully vivid work on his instagram (@idea.kou) or website.

With spring a-bloom in Freiburg, we would love to have our audience come together to hear from KOU and then sip some coffee while we take in and sketch some of our beautiful surroundings. The plan is to meet at the Carl-Schurz-Haus - if the weather is decent, we will walk across the street to Columbi Park together for a 'sip & sketch'. If it is too cold or wet, we will cozy up in the library together.
