Cancelled: CANCELED: 24-Hour Run for Children's Rights

Due to the ongoing heat wave and the forecast for the weekend of June 27 and 28, the 24-Hour Run for Children’s Rights will not take place, as the safety and health of the participating teams, volunteers, and guests at Seepark Stadium cannot be guaranteed in extreme heat.

We are currently working on an alternative date in September or October; the new date will be announced as soon as possible. Registration slots remain valid.

The 24-Hour Run for Children’s Rights will take place in Freiburg for the 20th time, this time from Saturday, June 27, to Sunday, June 28, 2026.

The run combines sports with social engagement: The goal is to raise awareness of the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and to bring the issues of children’s rights and child protection to the public’s attention. Therefore, 100 percent of the funds raised will go to local children’s and youth projects.

Conditions of Participation: Participatingteams can run, walk, or participate in a wheelchair as part of a relay. In total, each team must complete laps for 24 hours straight on the 400-meter track at the Seeparkstadion. Participants can run together or individually, but one person must always be moving with the baton. Teams can be formed by individuals, companies, clubs, or schools.

In addition to providing financial support to the runners, companies can also make direct donations and register to do so on the 24-hour run’s website by June 27. Spectators and other participants can also collect donations or make their own donations to support children’s rights until June 27.

The run is being organized for the ninth time by Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe in cooperation with the City of Freiburg and the German Children’s Fund.
