The music world celebrates 200 years of Anton Bruckner in September 2024. Under the direction of Pablo Heras-Casado, the SWR Vokalensemble, the WDR Rundfunkchor Köln, the SWR Symphonieorchester and top-class soloists come together for a work that Bruckner himself described as the "pride of his life", his "Te Deum". "O. A. M. D. G." - omnia ad maiorem Dei gloriam - the deeply devout composer wrote on the title page of this powerful jubilant hymn, dedicating "everything to the greater glory of God". Parallel to his "Te Deum", Bruckner wrote his sixth symphony. It is the first work in this genre that Bruckner did not revise again. His Sixth impresses with its life-affirming radiance and forms the symphonic and festive prelude to this Bruckner anniversary program.
