ad hoc vernissage and performance by and with Jürgen Oschwald

From Friday, October 10, to Sunday, October 19, 2025, Jürgen Oschwald will turn Schopf2 in Freiburg into an open studio. Under the title ad hoc, the space will become a place of immediate settings: Installations, objects and performances are created spontaneously, improvised and in direct exchange with the space and the audience.

As the term ad hoc suggests, the events are formed out of the moment: between concentrated work, sudden interventions and the productive unfinished. ad hoc does not see itself as a closed exhibition, but as a temporary experience - open and accessible to all.

About the artist

Jürgen Oschwald (*1969, Löffingen, Hochschwarzwald) lives and works in Freiburg im Breisgau. Focuses on performance, installation, painting and objects. Studied 1992-96 at the FHF Freiburg (now Macromedia). Scholarships & prizes: 2022 research scholarship, Fonds Darstellende Künste, Bonn. 2017 and 2019 Morinonaka / In My Room, 6 TAGE FREI, Dance and Theater Prize of the City of Stuttgart and the State of Baden-Württemberg. 2014 Kurt Lehmann Prize, Kurt Lehmann Foundation & Sparkasse Staufen-Breisach. Project since 2015: Founder, organizer and curator of the Offspace Pförtnerhaus Freiburg, Fabrikstraße 17, 79102 Freiburg.
