Agon - A dance piece by the Moving Orchestra Freiburg

The dance piece Agon is a new creation by the internationally active choreographer, lecturer and dancer Michael Langeneckert in collaboration with the Freiburg dancer Jonas Onny. The two artists are appearing on stage together for the first time and have a common background: Michael Langeneckert is a visiting professor at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, where Jonas Onny completed his dance studies.

In ancient Greece, agon was a sporting or artistic competition. Friction, contradiction, clash, quarrel - dealing with other people, exploring opposing opinions, always has the potential to turn into an argument or even a physical confrontation. The piece Agon addresses this relationship situation and uses this thematic inspiration for a sophisticated dance performance.
