Dementia action day on World Alzheimer's Day 2025

On Monday, September 22, 2025, the Dementia Action Day will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the old synagogue square. In addition to over 20 information stands, there will be a varied program.
World Alzheimer's Day was established in 1994 by Alzheimer's Disease International together with the World Health Organization (WHO). Since then, a wide range of activities have taken place around the world on 21 September to raise public awareness of the concerns and needs of people with dementia and their relatives. In 2022, the Freiburg Dementia Network organized a day of action for the first time in Freiburg to mark World Alzheimer's Day.
This year, a day of action with information stands and a varied program will take place again on Monday, 22 September 2025 from 1 to 5 p.m. on the old synagogue square.
With music, exercise and hands-on activities, a varied program is guaranteed.
With this year's World Alzheimer's Day motto "Dementia - Be and stay human", the focus is on people. In keeping with this, the Freiburg action day not only offers the opportunity to find out more about dementia, but also provides a space for personal exchange and encounters between people.
