Looking to the future - Every spring, music lovers can enjoy a special extra: a preview of the upcoming Albert Konzerte season as well as a glimpse into the work of its Friends. A glimpse into the future of concert life also regularly means the Chopin Competition in Warsaw, from whose finalists the future first squad of the piano world often crystallizes. In 2021, Bruce Liu won the much-coveted gold medal - and since then has been conquering the world's major concert halls with his brilliant playing and intelligent interpretation. It is truly an experience to hear the sound worlds Liu builds up with a completely unpretentious playing posture and a highly cultivated touch! Bruce Liu - the son of parents of Chinese origin who grew up in Canada - spent his early years in Paris. In his debut in Freiburg, he makes France the gravitational center of his program, which, in addition to gems by Rameau and Ravel, also includes two showpieces by the Parisian salon lions: In addition to Liszt's Don Giovanni Paraphrase, he has also chosen Chopin's Mozart Variations, with which he won the semifinals in Warsaw.
