To the moon

The Freiburg Planetarium invites you to a very special concert experience: Inga Schaefer and Walter-Michael Vollhardt dedicate an entire concert to the moon under the fulldome, where the stars usually twinkle.
Admission costs 24 euros, concessions 18 euros.

Day and night, solar eclipse, full moon or new moon: the brightest celestial body in our starry sky has always fascinated people. It has not only shaped the romantic song, but has also inspired composers all over the world - and has found its way into music, from transfigured stars to moon journeys.

Soprano Inga Schaefer and cellist Walter-Michael Vollhardt, together with pianist Christian Nagel, illuminate some of these highlights, from Schubert, Debussy and Stravinsky to Latin American sounds, Gershwin and Sinatra, and illuminate some of the texts several times over. Viewed from all sides, the audience can see and hear the moon, which wanders quietly above their heads through the dome of the planetarium. You can hear works by Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Hugo Wolf, Giuseppe Verdi, Leonard Bernstein and Glenn Miller.

Tickets can be reserved by telephone on 0761-3890630 or at www.planetarium-freiburg.de.
