Reading or singing aloud? Humming along while reading - or reading and listening at the same time? Everything is possible with this book! From the infinite universe of music, the sounding comic book presents a wonderfully wild mixture of rhythmic new discoveries and rediscoveries: from 300-year-old baroque music told without words by little frogs to modern pop songs about rain, elephants or lifeguards. As diverse as the music is, all the pieces have something in common - they tell stories!

The two artists Anke Kuhl and Moni Port have invited sixteen renowned comic and children's book artists, from Axel Scheffler to Nadia Budde, to transform German-language songs and pieces of music into comics. "Mukkekukke. Comics zu Musik" (Reprodukt, 2024) is a rousing visual playlist, a delightfully exuberant showcase of current comic art, honored as one of the "Poetry Recommendations for Children 2025" by the German Academy for Language and Poetry, among others. A book that tickles all the senses.
