Impressive photographs in large panoramic format and informative picture panels provide a view of the Rote Wand, the highest mountain in the Lechquellen area and Hüttenberg of the Freiburger Hütte.
The Klostertal Museum in Wald am Arlberg and the Freiburg Section have enjoyed a good working relationship for many years. In exhibitions in Wald am Arlberg and in Freiburg common themes were and are shown. Now the Section is pleased that the exhibition "On the mountains of the Klostertal" is coming to Freiburg. Just in time for the start of the summer season, the mountains surrounding the Freiburger Hütte can now also be seen here. The exhibition provides a view of the Rote Wand, the highest mountain of the Lechquellengebirge and Hüttenberg of our Freiburger Hütte, on the basis of impressive photographs in large panorama format and informative picture panels, among other things. Ten years after its exhibition on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Freiburger Hütte, the Museum Association Klostertal has again dealt with the mountain world of the Klostertal. In May 2022, the exhibition "On the mountains of the Klostertal" could be opened in the Klostertal Museum. The title refers to an article written by the alpinist Dr. Karl Blodig, who described this mountain world in detail for the first time in 1905 in the magazine of the German and Austrian Alpine Club. The exhibition focuses on the mountain peaks with their summit crosses and the culture of remembrance that exists in summit books and other forms. In addition, the geology of the alpine regions of the Klostertal, the agricultural use of these areas in earlier times and the names of the mountains are important topics.
The exhibition is supplemented by objects from the archive and library of the Freiburg Section.
