Augustinian Day

This year's Augustinian Day will probably be the last time that visitors receive information about the progress of the work. This is because the completion of the renovation work on Freiburg's Augustian museum is within reach and is scheduled for 2025. The entire building, from the treasury cellar to the top floor, will probably be accessible again next fall.

This year's Augustinian Day will therefore be a very special event. Visitors will once again have the rare opportunity to take part in exclusive tours of the building site and take a look behind the scenes of the extensive renovation work at the Augustian museum. Experts from the museum will guide visitors through the various areas of the building site and explain the complex restoration processes and the progress made in recent years.

The Augustinian Day begins at 11 a.m. in the Feierling beer garden. Here, all interested parties will be welcomed by Lord Mayor Martin Horn, Deputy Chair of the Board of Trustees Martina Feierling-Rombach and the Director of the Municipal Museums, Jutta Götzmann. Admission to the Augustian museum is free on June 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The focus of the day is the sponsorship catalog: It presents unique works of art and historical objects that are waiting for sponsors who would like to financially support their restoration and preservation.
With the fundraising campaign "A Future for the Past", the Board of Trustees has already been able to raise over 2.3 million euros and almost 700 sponsorships, which have benefited the restoration of the Augustian museum. This commitment to art and culture has contributed greatly to the successful renovation.
