XTA (/ˈɛks ti ə/), a German artist born in Indonesia, began her artistic career at the age of 17 in Jakarta as a fashion designer. Driven by a desire to discover the true meaning of existence, she pursued a scientific career as a neuroscientist and later as a biostatistician. Ultimately, XTA found solace in existentialism, which led to the creation of “existentiae art”—the art of existence.
“Rise of the Red Sun” is XTA’s first exhibition. Through metalwork, wood carvings, and woven pieces, she tells the story of how she chose to continue living—even after decades of neglect, discrimination, and self-hatred. In a 300-square-meter hall, visitors can expect a large-scale installation featuring wall hangings, wearable textiles, and sculptures—woven and sculpted testaments to a rediscovered existence. Admission is free.
