BARBARA: Homage to Georg Kreisler

Even if this is fortunately not the reality for him, the chanson "Mein Weib will mich verlassen" by Georg Kreisler is one of his favorite songs: Bernd Schwär has dedicated himself to singing for around twenty years and in particular to the works of Georg Kreisler, Kurt Weill and Otto Reutter. "I sing because I can present and show myself as I am and at the same time bring joy to other people," explains the versatile artist. He delights his audiences at his recitals of classical chansons, which he performs in his favorite Austrian city of Vienna as well as in his home town of Freiburg and the surrounding area.

Tony lllenberger was born in Bratislava. He studied piano and conducting at the Academy of Music. While still a student, he won a prize in the national competition for young pianists in the former CSSR. He received his first engagement as a solo repetiteur at the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava. He came to Freiburg via the Dortmund Opera House and the Bavarian State Opera, where he worked as Kapellmeister. From 1983 to 2003 he worked at the Freiburg University of Music in the field of opera and song interpretation. In addition to his work as a conductor, Tony lllenberger is a much sought-after accompanist.
