Meeting of the generations
Friday, 11/07/2025 / House of the Graphic Collection (in the Augustinermuseum)
Under the motto "Old and young - not lonely together", the Haus der Graphischen Sammlung, Salzstraße 32/34, invites you to a "weekend of encounters between the generations". Accompanying the exhibition "Alter! Graphics from Five Centuries", the three-day series of events opens up spaces for exchange and reflection on images of age in art and society.
The aim is to create a lively dialog between generations.
Friday, July 11, 5:30 pm: Lecture on the top floor of the Augustian museum on Augustinerplatz
- The ageing researchers Ria and Hans Hinken from the Initiative Alterskompetenz will be exploring the question of how older people see themselves and how they are perceived by those around them. Admission costs 10 euros, concessions 8 euros. Tickets are available in the online store at www.museen-freiburg.de/shop.
Saturday, July 12, 4 to 6 p.m.: Free workshop at the Haus der Graphischen Sammlung
- "Generation Smartphone" and "Generation Punch Card" meet. Participants aged 16 to 106 will discuss mutual prejudices, shared values and successful coexistence in small groups.
Registration is possible until Wednesday, July 9, by e-mail to museumspaedagogik@freiburg.de. The meeting point is the museum ticket office.
Sunday, July 13, 2 to 5 p.m.: Open printing workshop in the museum's educational workshop in the House of Prints and Drawings
- Young and old can get creative in the open printing workshop.
Participation is free of charge.
Sunday, July 13, 2 and 3 p.m.: Short guided tours through the special exhibition "Age! Graphics from five centuries"
- Short guided tours shed light on depictions of ageing from Albrecht Dürer to Pablo Picasso.
Participation costs the regular admission fee of 5 euros, concessions 3 euros.
