Picture book cinema for Zero Discrimination Day
Saturday, 28/02/2026 / 04:00 PM - 05:00 PM / Stadtbibliothek (municipal library)
To mark Zero Discrimination Day on March 1, Dita Whip, who is known as a drag queen, burlesque performer, comedienne and host in Freiburg's subculture, will be reading to children and families. She uses her charm to convey the values of tolerance, acceptance and equality while reading aloud. Afterwards, she will be happy to answer questions from the young audience.
The picture books "DISCO!" by Frauke Angel and Julia Dürr (© 2019, Verlag Jungbrunnen, Vienna) and "Genug gebrüllt, Löwe - jetzt bestimmen wir" by Günther Jakobs (© 2024, Verlag Fischer Sauerländer) will be read. The event is being held in cooperation with the Diversity & Anti-Discrimination Office of the City of Freiburg and FLUSS e. V. Under the motto "Talking with us instead of about us", the association aims to break down prejudices and sensitize both children and adults to topics relating to gender, sexual and romantic orientation.
No registration required, for everyone aged 5 and over.
