If you let it. Press play and you're basically embarking on a vision quest, looking at a representation of the human condition, like an X-ray, as experienced by singer-songwriter Janine Cathrein. The entire journey - because that's what it feels like - is a gritty and dusty, but richly orchestrated and cinematic reading of urban folk aesthetics. The arrangements, huge throughout, support and reinforce the carefully tuned and emotionally soaked songwriting - as one would really expect more from artists_ with extensive oeuvres.
