Choir/orchestra concert: Antonio Vivaldi

He was a priest, composer, violinist, conductor and pedagogue - a musical jack-of-all-trades, world-famous in his day, soon forgotten and buried in poverty in Vienna: Antonio Vivaldi.
Today, his wonderful melodies, his ingenuity, his harmonic boldness, his musical surprises intoxicate us.
On this evening, two of his central works will be performed at the Ebneter KulturSommer: Gloria and Magnificat for soloists, choir and orchestra, interspersed with the rarely heard Nisi Dominus aedificaverit for soloists and basso continuo.

Patrizia Pfauth (soprano), Theresa Bertrand (mezzo-soprano), Stefan Pöll (chest organ), the Musikkollegium Freiburg, the Orfeón de Granada choir and the choir of the Friends of the Berthold-Gymnasium Freiburg will be singing and performing.
