Christina Clemm, Stefanie Lohaus: Stronger than Rage - Reading and Talk in the Series Girl, Woman, Other
Friday, 08/12/2023 / 07:30 PM / House of Literature Freiburg
For more than 25 years, defense attorney Christina Clemm has represented victims of gender-based violence in court - and she is furious because in Germany a woman is killed by her (ex-)partner every third day. In ,,Gegen Frauenhass" (Hanser Berlin, 2023), she takes us through the spiral of violence anchored in deeply rooted, patriarchal structures. At the Literaturhaus, she talks with Stefanie Lohaus, co-founder of Missy Magazine and co-director of the European Academy for Women in Politics and Economics Berlin, who in ,,Stärker als Wut" (Suhrkamp, 2023) looks at five decades of feminist movement in Germany. An evening about power and powerlessness, about achievements, setbacks and perspectives on the way to a gender-equal society. The conversation will be moderated by Andrea Zimmermann (board member of the women's rights organization Amica e.V.).
