D'Artagnan, a spirited boy, comes to Paris to become a musketeer, that is, a fighter in the service of King Louis XIII. There he joins the king's three musketeers - Athos, Porthos and Aramis. The quartet wants to provide stability in a country divided by religious wars and threatened by the British army. However, D'Artagnan's life only becomes truly serious when he loses his heart to Constance Bonacieux, a confidante of the queen. His closeness to her also attracts the attention of shady characters. Milady de Winter quickly sets her sights on his life.

From the Louvre to Buckingham Palace, from the gutters of Paris to the siege of the fortress of La Rochelle... in a kingdom divided by religious wars and threatened by a British invasion, a handful of men and women cross swords and tie their fate to that of France.
