Alô, Alô! Time for a film series on Brazilian cinema! It's about the reflection of culture and history in Brazilian film. On the one hand, through the historical contexts in which the films were made and the traces that these contexts have left behind stylistically and thematically in the film. Secondly, through the targeted examination of power relations and class structures that are anchored in Brazilian culture. In doing so, we gain insights into different ways of dealing with physical and psychological violence in film.
