Consort playing intensive - Seminar for recorder ensemble

The seminar is aimed exclusively at advanced recorder players who have mastered the entire recorder quartet. Good sight-reading is a prerequisite. The first three mornings and the last two days of the course will be spent in plenary sessions. Part of the morning is devoted to technical training (breathing technique, sound and tone formation, articulation, finger technique). Tenor and bass recorders are increasingly used. Great and sub-bass recorders are also required in order to be able to play in the 8-foot register. On the afternoons of the first three days of the course, students will play in small consorts of varying sizes in a simple instrumentation. The course covers ensemble literature from the 16th to the 21st century, starting with Renaissance bicinia through to polychoral music. The evenings offer the opportunity for free music-making.

Course director: Harras-Donzé, Manfred. Manfred Harras-Donzè is active as a soloist, chamber musician and sought-after music teacher in Germany and abroad. He has released numerous records and CDs, as well as editions and musicological publications.
