The original production by Sasson/Sautter with Deborah Sasson and Uwe Kröger Music: Deborah Sasson Lyrics: Jochen Sautter Music director and arrangements: Ryan Martin The big touring production returns with a top-class star cast and in a completely new musical arrangement. A real musical highlight! Following the outstanding success of the 2022/23 tour, world star Deborah Sasson has once again been recruited to take on the role of Christine for the season. The singer's interplay with Germany's number one musical star, Uwe Kroeger, who continues in the role of the Phantom, has been celebrated by audiences and the press everywhere. Since 2010, "The Phantom of the Opera" by the writing team of Deborah Sasson and Jochen Sautter has been captivating audiences on the stages of Europe. Now the forced break due to the corona pandemic has been used creatively to completely rework the production musically. The successful British musician Ryan Martin, who has composed and arranged music for Cirque du Soleil, America's Got Talent, Netflix, BBC, ABC, CBS and Fox USA, among others, has been brought on board. The spectacular stage design is brought to life both by the effective, three-dimensional video projections by internationally acclaimed multimedia artist Daniel Stryjecki and by the grandiose stage elements built by Michael Scott of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. This new production, which was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the novel "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra" written by Gaston Leroux in 1910, is one of the most successful touring musicals in Europe. The production sets itself apart from all previous musical interpretations of the literary material by sticking closer to the original novel and incorporating well-known opera quotations in parts of the music composed by Sasson. 2 The role of Christine is interpreted by the internationally acclaimed Boston soprano and Echo Klassik prizewinner Deborah Sasson. Her multifaceted and powerful voice is perfect for this mixture of opera and musical. The Phantom is played by Uwe Kroeger, who has captured the hearts of audiences since his breakthrough role as Death in the world premiere of Elisabeth. He has played the leading roles in the world premieres of Rebecca, Mozart, The Visit of the Old Lady, Heidi and in the German-language premieres of Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, Doctor Dolittle, The Addams Family and Napoleon in London's West End. Now, in this production, he slips into the role of the Phantom, feared by the world and torn apart inside. A large ensemble of selected singers, dancers and actors from German-speaking countries also take part.
