Defective debates: Why we need to argue better as a society - book launch and discussion

Book tickets

Political scientist Julia Reuschenbach (FU Berlin) and radio journalist Korbinian Frenzel (Deutschlandfunk Kultur) state in their book "Defekte Debatten" (suhrkamp nova, 2024) that the culture of debate in Germany is in a desolate state. We seem to have forgotten how to argue properly. This is true in politics as well as in forming our own opinions and living together. How did this come about? What is the problem and what challenges do we have to face? These are questions that the team of authors has examined in detail. In addition to the analysis, they point out concrete ways in which we can learn to argue better politically.

The evening will be moderated by Katrin Würtherle, organizational developer & coach, and Christine Grüger, planning moderator and host of the podcast "Stadtrederei - Reflections on City and Space".
