Dementia - being and remaining human

During the day of action, there will be information on the topic of dementia and support options for the elderly at many stands run by various stakeholders. The day of action also offers a colorful supporting program with music, exercise and hands-on activities: There will be a "serenade concert" by musicians from the SWR Symphony Orchestra and dance performances that invite people to join in. The gymnastics and brain jogging activities are not only fun, but also provide ideas for health prevention. Interested parties, relatives and people with dementia are cordially invited to linger and join in, get information and exchange ideas.

"Dementia - be and stay human" is this year's motto. Even if dementia changes people and takes away some abilities, the person with feelings, characteristics and strengths remains. People with dementia should not be reduced to the disease and should continue to be part of our society. The Dementia Network Freiburg, consisting of the Senior Citizens' Office and seven other organizations, has been working for years to ensure that people with dementia are welcome in the midst of our society.
