The Great Gatsby - by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Young Nick Caraway rents a house on Long Island, right next to the impressive estate of millionaire Gatsby. Here, New York's high society celebrates from one glamorous party to the next: Gatsby's guests loll on the beach, fly in his seaplane or dance to jazz music in his garden.
When Nick finally meets the mysterious host himself, a fateful connection is revealed: years ago, Gatsby had an affair with Nick's cousin Daisy, who is now married to the brutal playboy Tom.
Gatsby is still obsessed with her and the idea of winning her back by acquiring as much prestige and property as possible. He asks Nick to arrange a meeting to rekindle the relationship - a momentous decision.

F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel is a masterpiece of world literature. In his immortal story, he shows that consumerism and luxury are just hollow cardboard backdrops in which happiness never resides. We are retelling this timeless parable about the projections of love and the megalomania of the "American way of life" in our own dramatization. A dreamlike summer pleasure with a large ensemble and music.
