The wolf's pelt
Saturday, 07/02/2026 / 04:00 PM - 05:00 PM / Theater Freiburg - Workroom
The Bellwidder Rückwelzer sheep loves gentle things: flowers, birdsong and blackberries. But hungry wolves lurk in the forest, where all this is to be found. Only the bad ones are strong, thinks Bellwidder and sews himself a wolf pelt. Now he looks so dangerous that even his reflection is afraid. Bellwidder, the sheep in wolf's clothing, can no longer smell flowers or hear birds. But the wolves Lamona and Philip fall for his disguise and take him into their pack. But his new fur is getting more and more damaged. Bellwidder is afraid - the wolves will surely eat him when they realize that he is really a sheep! But when he stands in front of the wolves wearing only his sheepskin, Bellwidder is in for a big surprise ... The team from Frida und das Wut and Die Nacht, als Lu vom Himmel fiel brings the award-winning children's book by Sid Sharp, which was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in the children's book category, to the stage as puppet theater. In this story, it's not the bad guys who are strong. They miss out on the best. Real friendships only develop when we bravely show who we are and don't hide our vulnerability. Or: "A wonderfully scary story with a great ending that teaches us to be true to ourselves!", as the Stiftung Lesen (Reading Foundation) aptly sums it up in its recommendation.
