German-French songwriting workshop - building bridges through music

This Franco-German workshop is aimed at music lovers and songwriters and invites them to discover the diversity of languages through collaborative creative work. During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to explore songwriting techniques and, accompanied by Antoine Villoutreix, an experienced songwriter (Walther-von-der-Vogelweide Prize 2024), will write original songs in German, French or both languages in small groups. And if you don't speak French? No problem! Then the song will be written in German. The main thing is that creativity is encouraged and interculturalism comes alive through this unique musical experience! Aims of the workshop:- To explore different aspects of songwriting (structure, melody, rhyme, rhythm)- To develop creativity through bilingual co-writing- To compose your own songs in German and/or FrenchOf course, it's good if you know how to play an instrument, but it's not essential! You can also just write the lyrics that will be set to music by othersOn Friday, December 20, 2024, a final concert of the songwriting workshop will take place at 19:30.

Course leader: Villoutreix, Antoine. Chansonier Antoine Villoutreix is originally from Paris, but has been living in Berlin for several years.his voice is deep and warm and accompanies the listener into a musical world where intimate chanson and folk atmospheres with poetic lyrics stand alongside the explosive energy of swing, reggae or rock. He does not hesitate to make the words sound in several languages, in French, but also in German or English, depending on his inspiration and his travels, as in his new album "Promenade", in which he unites several worlds for a musical journey.more at www.antoinevilloutreix.com
