In cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians - The number of people with diabetes mellitus is constantly increasing worldwide. With more than 7 million people affected, Germany is one of the leading European countries. Experts assume that there will be many more. Most people with diabetes mellitus suffer from type 2 diabetes, formerly known as "adult-onset diabetes". It usually occurs in the second half of life, but in the meantime there are already children with this type of disease due to lifestyle changes in our affluent society. Experts estimate that a further three to four million people in our country suffer from diabetes mellitus without realizing it. Adequate knowledge of this disease and its correlation with general lifestyle and other accompanying illnesses is essential. By optimizing lifestyle and reducing weight, it is possible to prevent or at least delay the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus. After the lecture, there will be an opportunity to ask the speaker questions.
