Improvisations

"eineArtEnsemble" performs a dark concert for the award-winning competition entry "Die Dunkelheit weiß so viel".

The darkness knows so much - this is how the mother sings her child to sleep in the Icelandic lullaby Sofðu Unga Ástin Min. We want to explore together what the darkness knows, what it means to immerse ourselves in it and let go. To do this, we will focus on what makes a concert even before any visual staging: listening itself.
A kind of ensemble invites the audience to abandon their visuals and immerse themselves in a purely auditory world in which sounds and music flow into each other and weave in the listeners from all sides. The performers themselves explore the space and its sonic possibilities through improvisations that bring the facets of darkness to life: Beauty and freedom, but also uncertainty and fear. In this way, a contrasting soundscape is created that offers the opportunity to discover a space in a new way and to surrender to one's own imagination.

From the jury's statement (D-bü competition 2022):
"The prize is awarded for a special musical achievement combined with a coherent and easily reproducible concept. Particularly decisive for this decision is the professional and effective use of free improvisation, movement and language."
