The Freiburg Wolf's Den (guided tour)

Price: 12.00€

In cooperation with VISTAtour and ARGE Freiburger Stadtbild - The area between Herrenstraße and the city wall used to be called "Wolfshöhle" (wolf's den) after a district name from the time before the city was founded. The quarter is an example of how some urban structures changed radically in earlier centuries, with entire groups of houses and monasteries disappearing. Only in the "Konviktstraße" did the Middle Ages survive for a long time: just a few decades ago, Freiburg's showcase street no. 1 was still a disreputable corner that didn't really fit into the image of a modern city. Eventually, a large part of the quaint ensemble of houses was demolished during a "redevelopment" and the community of Konviktsträßler dissolved. There are all kinds of strange stories about the neighborhood. - Registration required.
