The art of reading aloud - intensive weekend

"Having imagination doesn't mean making things up. It means making something out of things." (Thomas Mann) Literature is full of imagination, knowledge and adventure. In this course, you will learn how to convey content when reading aloud and bring the written word to life. We will work with techniques and exercises from speech training and use imagination and emotion to create your favorite text. Learn how to use vocal tone, pauses and tempo to make texts accessible to listeners and make reading aloud easier for yourself. After two intensive days, participants will have the tools they need to individually shape different types of texts, whether non-fiction or prose, and perform them authentically. At the beginning of the course, please bring a text of your choice (1-2 pages) that you would like to work with.
