The forbidden pilgrimage (historical hike)

The forbidden pilgrimage (historical hike)

Price: 25.00€

In cooperation with VISTAtour and ARGE Freiburger Stadtbild - The first part of the guided hike focuses on the ancient history of the Dreisam Valley, the special features of the landscape around the source of the Dreisam, the settlement history of the Black Forest and the unique architecture of the old Black Forest farmsteads. The tour then leads via a Way of the Cross to the Lindenberg, which is a special place not only for believers. It is little known that the pilgrimage, which dates back to the Middle Ages, also had its dark sides and at times had the traits of a thrilling church thriller. We show historical views of the ensemble of church, Meßmerhaus, farmhouse and inn, which existed until the 1970s and of which only the church remains today. Walking distance to St. Peter approx. 12 km, duration approx. 5.5 hours, stamina required. In St. Peter you can take the bus back to Kirchzarten. - Registration required.
