Printmaking: Etching

The course offers an introduction to the technique of etching. The necessary working tools are tried out and test prints are created. Course content: * Engraving and etching your own motifs onto the printing plate * Practicing the printing process with one or more colors * Designing additional printing plates Participants will be introduced to the etching technique. Zinc plates are used as the working medium. The course is aimed at beginners as well as participants of previous courses of the lecturer. Materials/tools will be provided. Material costs for paints, varnish, acid and papers are included in the course fee. The zinc plates will be charged directly to the instructor at 3-5€/each, depending on size.

Course instructor: Hothum, Michelle. Michelle Hothum is a miniature painter and illustrator. She works mainly with the technique of etching and regularly takes part in exhibitions and collectors' markets at home and abroad. More at www.angelsbymichel.weebly.com
