Friday, 15/12/2023 / 07:30 PM / House of Literature Freiburg
The final pages of the seventh Literaturhaus year, the season's pre-Christmas finale - and books that stay!
Discussing their literary discoveries of the year: Meike Jäger, who imagined a life surrounded by mountains of books at the age of eight and moved from Hesse's largest children's and young people's library to Freiburg's municipal library as its new director in the middle of this year. Basel poetry laureate Walle Sayer, traveling from Horb am Neckar through the Black Forest, who discovered his love of poetry at 16, during an apprenticeship as a bank clerk, and became an existential reader-until at some point he found himself writing his own poetry. Shirin Saber, press officer of the city theater, who as a child in the Berlin bookstore Motzbuch dreamed of her own bookshelves up to the ceiling and now collects, reviews and recommends books on her wonderful Bookstagram ,,ein_bildungsroman - books since 1988". The quartet is completed by Literaturhaus director Martin Bruch.
