ECM 2026 o Ferenc Snétberger & Matthieu Michel

In the wonderful atmosphere of the St. Lioba monastery in Freiburg's Günterstal district, visitors to the ECM Festival can look forward to a duo concert with Ferenc Snétberger (guit) and the Swiss Matthieu Michel (trumpet-flugelhorn).

The guitarist and composer Ferenc Snétberger was born in 1957 in northern Hungary as the youngest son of a family of musicians. Even as a child, his father, also a guitarist, was his great role model. Snétberger studied classical music and jazz guitar and is known today for his improvisational skills and his playing that transcends genre boundaries.

His repertoire is inspired by the Roma tradition of his homeland, Brazilian music and flamenco as well as classical guitar and jazz. He has released numerous albums under his own name and a number of others as co-leader and sideman. His concert tours have taken him all over Europe, Japan, Korea, India, Vietnam and the USA
