A Sudeten German family history - the Nazi era, expulsion and a new beginning

Price: 9.00€

What if "the internet" knows more about your own family than you do? Wolfgang Dittrich-Windhüfel began his private family history research in 2017, which led him to look into online registers, community memorial books and press products from the 20th century. Across national and language borders, his research led him primarily to the so-called Sudetenland, to the former district of Trautenau and the village of Kukus on the Elbe within sight of the Giant Mountains, where his parents and grandparents come from. He was able to trace their lives in the 1930s and 1940s through databases and German, Polish and Czech archives, which are freely accessible on the Internet. There were many surprising results. - Registration required.
