Parenting course: Mastering separation - strengthening children

When parents separate and a family breaks up, it is painful for everyone involved. Anger, grief and jealousy do not make it easy to compromise, and instead there are often arguments about contact and custody. If parents nevertheless manage to find solutions together in the interests of the children that both can accept and put into practice, the situation is also less stressful for the children. The City of Freiburg's advice center for parents, children and young people provides support with courses for parents. Two new courses are starting in spring.
The parenting course "Mastering Separation - Strengthening Children" consists of six modules covering various topics, including
- Stress and emotion regulation
- Conflict behavior
- communication
- Strengthening parenting skills.
Participants get to know other parents who are in a similar situation. This allows them to benefit from each other's experiences. In discussions and exercises, they work together to find solutions to difficult situations.
