Endometriosis and the desire to have children (lecture)

Free entry

In cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians - Despite the very high number of women affected and around 40,000 new cases every year, endometriosis still receives too little attention from the public and experts alike. Many women suffer unrecognized from endometriosis or are confronted with this diagnosis. The most common symptoms include pain in the lower abdomen, particularly before or during menstruation in varying degrees, pain during urination, sexual intercourse or bowel movements. One theory of the development of this disease assumes that the lining of the uterus enters the abdominal cavity via the fallopian tubes during menstruation and causes chronic inflammation there. Therefore, an unfulfilled desire to have children can also be another sign of endometriosis. The problem with endometriosis is that it often takes years before the disease is diagnosed. What are the treatment options? Are there alternative treatment approaches? What counseling services are available? Where can I get help? This evening will provide an insight into the development and diagnosis of the disease, as well as various treatment approaches and operations. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask the speaker questions.
