How political can the church be? This question is repeatedly the subject of controversial debate - most recently triggered once again by statements made by Bundestag President Julia Klöckner, who criticized excessive interference in political issues of the day.
A study day at the Catholic Academy in Freiburg on Friday, June 6 from 3.30 to 7 p.m. is dedicated to this controversial topic - online and open to the public. Under the title "Recognizable, not partisan", experts will discuss the legitimacy, impact and limits of church positioning in the political arena.
Contributors are:
- Prelate Dr. Karl Jüsten (Catholic Office, Berlin)
- Prof. Dr. Karl-Rudolf Korte (Political Science, Duisburg/Essen)
- Prof. Dr. Ulrike Kostka (Caritas Association for the Archdiocese of Berlin)
