Opening ceremony "Together as one" & vernissage Black Faces of/in Freiburg

On September 27, we will celebrate the festival kick-off with music and food by BIPoc under the motto "Together as on". At the vernissage, we will also open the photo exhibition Black Faces of/in Freiburg by Malika Ouis & A Sister, curated by A Sister.

The photo exhibition Black Faces of/in Freiburg will be accessible for the entire duration of the festival from September 27 to October 3.

The exhibition aims to document people of color who live and work in Freiburg. It is intended to help change the stereotypical and often negative narrative about black African people. The exhibition aims to show a real picture of us, by us and for us.

Mailka Ouis is a young and aspiring self-taught photographer. She specializes in street photography and has recently moved into event and party photography. She has already worked with AfroVibes and AfroTonic. She has also photographed commissioned work for the supermarket chain EDEKA.
