eve(n)song

Book tickets

With this spring program, the Freiburg Chamber Choir under the direction of Lukas Grimm is devoting itself exclusively to works by female composers. Under the title EVE(n)song, compositions by Amy Beach, Caroline Shaw, Judith Weir, Roxanna Panufnik, Florence Price, Andrea Tarrodi and others will be performed for a cappella choir and with organ accompaniment.
The works will be performed in a thematic sequence of psalm singing, doubts and petitions, affirmation and praise of God. The eponymous Anglican evening liturgy serves as a dramaturgical framework and creates a link between the different compositions.
The Freiburg Chamber Choir will be accompanied by the young Canadian organist Julie Pinsonneault, who will also add her own accent to the program with an organ work by her compatriot Rachel Laurin, who died last year.
