Festival - Trinational MicroFest

Free entry

The Goethe-Institut Freiburg invites you to two concerts as part of the Trinational MicroFest 2025.

The festival format is in the tradition of the "MicroFests", which the world-famous guitarist John

Schneider brought to life. The first edition at the end of November 2025 is dedicated to the 150th birthday of the Mexican composer Julián Carrillo and focuses on the work of this unique pioneer of microtonal music and combines him with works by his microtonal contemporaries such as Ivan Wyschnegradsky and current microtonal composers from Switzerland, Germany and France. The musical focus is on microtonality and special microtonal instruments.

In Freiburg, the matinée Ensemble Vertebræ will perform in the morning. The evening program will then be introduced with a film and a lecture. Afterwards, the "Zentaur Quartett" will round off the festival with pieces by composers such as Carrillo, Criton and Pelzel.

The various program points will take place on Friday, 28 November 2025 at 11:00, 18:30 and 20:30 in the foyer of the Goethe-Institut Freiburg. Afterwards, we cordially invite you to end the evening in a relaxed atmosphere with a glass of wine and canapés.
