Film & talk: "Something new in the East" (2025)

The award-winning documentary "Im Osten was Neues" by Loraine Blumenthal will be shown as part of a film afternoon.

The film follows the personal development of Thomas Eichstätt, a former right-wing extremist who now works as a soccer coach in Torgelow and looks after young refugees. The documentary focuses on individual transformation processes, social challenges and the potential for successful integration in rural areas.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Volker Finke, long-time coach of SC Freiburg and ambassador for openness and intercultural exchange.
