Meat. From a symbol of prosperity to a threat to the future

Meat. From a symbol of prosperity to a threat to the future

Free entry

On Tuesday, October 1, at 7 pm, sociologist Jana Rückert-John will be speaking at the Katholische Akademie Freiburg, Wintererstraße 1, as well as online, on the much-discussed topic of meat consumption.

In the modern age, meat has become a symbol of vitality and social status. No other food is so much at the center of social differentiation processes, whether through consumption or conscious renunciation. Today, however, meat is increasingly perceived as a threat to our future in the context of current health and environmental risks.

The event is being held in cooperation with the Diocesan Office for Creation and the Environment of the Archdiocese of Freiburg.

Admission is free. Registration at www.katholische-akademie-freiburg.de.
