FLUTE CONCERTS

In keeping with tradition, the Camerata Instrumentale Freiburg's end-of-year concert will take place on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 8:15 p.m. in the Kaisersaal of the historical merchants' hall on Münsterplatz. The concert will begin with Pergolesi's flute concerto in G major, which points to the classical period, followed before the interval by Georg Philipp 'Telemann's concerto in D major with a wonderful dance movement at the end. After the interval, as a special feature, two concertos by father and son Stamitz. Firstly, the G major concerto by Johann Wenzel Stamitz, the highly acclaimed and famous founder of the Mannheim School, still committed to the early classical period, followed by the concerto op. 27 by his son Carl Stamitz as the crowning finale, a concerto that is fully in the classical period and, due to its lively style and quality, was already a compulsory piece on the program at the ARD International Broadcasting Competition in Munich. This is complemented by the "Romantic Pieces op. 75a by Antonìn Dvorák for 2 violins and viola. The soloists are Frank Michael flute,
Miriam Rudolph 1st violin, Gudrun Attinger 2nd violin, Ulrike Rüttgardt viola
and Ute Hüffmann violoncello
