To this day, female relationships are often infantilized or presented in competition with one another: as a kind of preliminary stage to the actual goal of "finding Mr. Right", as a constant struggle for the place of "best mother", "most beautiful in class" or "passionate lover". The division of women is one of the foundations of patriarchal power. Fighting back against it - a revolution.

In her latest book (Droemer Knaur, 2024), Franziska Schutzbach uses captivating examples, letters and essays to show the role relationships, friendships and conflicts play in emancipation processes and explores political spaces for action, the importance of which is often overlooked. The sociologist and author talks to Andrea Zimmermann (Amica e.V.) about how female solidarity can change society.
