Frei Art Festival - 2025 2025 with international dance art, performances and artistic hands-on activities

From September 15 to 21, 2025, the Frei Art Festival at Studio Pro Arte will be a meeting place for the international dance scene and a space for encounters, co-creation and movement for everyone. Artists from all over the world will come to Freiburg to bring dance to life together with people from the region.

A week full of performances, participatory formats, workshops for professionals and amateurs and meeting formats will take place at Studio Pro Arte and in the Vauban district during the Frei Art Festival 2025.

The performance program brings dance pieces by international guests and local artists to the stage. Petricor Danse and the Ouro Collective both come from Canada and present award-winning choreographies. The Collective Zinada invites you to watch and dance along with their piece WUW, a poetic and physical dance production for children and young people.

The participatory program ranges from workshops for professional dancers to a diverse program for children, young people and adults with and without previous experience. For the first time, young people will have the opportunity to take part in an international dance project with dancers from Laos and Morocco with the aim of creating a global artistic future.

The Out.liers Dance Battle and the Kids Dance Contest promise a special festival atmosphere on September 20, 2025. In front of a top-class jury and accompanied by live music, the dancers will compete against each other to choose the Out.lier 2025.

A special highlight for everyone is the festival's big open-air event on September 21, 2025 on Alfred-Döblin-Platz in the Vauban district. Dance, circus, hands-on activities, airtrack, games, live music, performances and snacks will transform the square into an open, creative playing field.
