Gaude! Rejoice! - Choral music for the 3rd Advent

With its Advent concert "Gaude! Rejoice!", the semplice vocal ensemble invites you to a contemplative and festive musical evening in St. Luke's Church on 14.12.2025 at 7 pm. On the third Sunday of Advent, a program will be performed that makes the inner movement of the Advent season musically tangible: the expectant waiting, the longing for consolation and the growing anticipation of the light of Christmas.

A varied spectrum of choral music by Johannes Eccard, Johann Sebastian Bach, Michael Praetorius, Andreas Hammerschmidt, Anton Bruckner and Zoltán Kodály can be heard. The works range from intimate and meditative sounds - such as Eccard's Advent motets or Kodály's impressive "Veni, veni Emmanuel" - to festive, radiant pieces such as Hammerschmidt's "Machet die Tore weit". Timeless classics such as "Es ist ein Ros' entsprungen" and Bach's familiar chorales also lend the program a special warmth and familiarity.

The semplice vocal ensemble combines these works to create a warm, diverse and contemplative musical experience that takes listeners into the Advent season in a special way. The audience is invited to pause for a moment, allow themselves to be carried along and experience the joy of Advent in music.
