Commemoration of the anniversary of the pogrom night

In the November pogroms of 1938, more than 1,400 synagogues, prayer rooms and other meeting rooms, thousands of stores, homes and Jewish cemeteries were destroyed. On the night of November 9-10, 1938, the synagogue in Freiburg was also set on fire by the National Socialists. Deportations of Jewish people to concentration campsfollowed from November 10 . At least 30,000 people were interned, hundreds died as a result of the murderous prison conditions or were executed.

This year, the commemorative event will take place for the first time at 6 p.m. in the Winterer Foyer of Theater Freiburg. Admission is free. Prior registration is required.
