My grandmother's expulsion from Hungary

Harkau is a village in Hungary whose inhabitants were deported into the unknown in May 1946. Among them was the grandmother of the illustrator, who retells her story and that of the village in a graphic novel. In the lecture, Christian Sohn will provide insights into his artistic approach to the subject matter. The presentation will be framed by a panel discussion with historian Dr. Krisztina Kaltenecker.

Christian Sohn works as a motion designer in the field of social media and also deals artistically with historical narrative forms // Dr. Krisztina Kaltenecker is the editor of the Suevia Pannonica Archive and has been dealing with the history and culture of the Hungarian Germans for decades.

The lecture is part of the institute's own event series "Fluchtwege. Forced Migration in Biographies and Images" of the IKDE.

Admission is free. Registration is not necessary.
